our dear friends at the crane estate in ipswich, ma asked us to help with a new function venue and we just jumped at the chance!

the trustees of reservation cares for nearly 100 spaces all around massachusetts. they are a truly special group of more than 100,000 people who love the land and help protect it's true beauty!

for over 100 years the trustees have shared a love and message of sustainability that is offered to all of us through their nearly 25,000 acres they tend to all over our fine state.

the crane estate is one of their many beautiful estate's we have been so lucky to spend so much time at. les fleurs has been a preferred wedding vendor on their list for many years now and we look forward to every chance to design wedding flowers for our client at the crane estate. when the lovely ladies at crane's asked for some florals for a NEW venue we were right on board!

a few miles down the road from the crane estate is appleton farms, "the oldest continuously operating farm in the country, Appleton was established and cared for by nine generations of the Appleton family, and was donated to The Trustees by Colonel Francis R. Appleton, Jr., and his wife Joan."

we wanted to share the beauty of the carriage barn and grounds as a PREFECT wedding venue for an intimate group!

as you enter the carriage barn you are met by the original cobblestone floor surrounded by rich woods and chic barn features. (with out all the hay & dirt, hehe) it's the barn's stables that truly make the space for me!! keep looking below to see what i mean :o)

organic fall mix of blooms complemented the barns rustic style

the moss filled mason jars added ambient lighting in addition to votives on the tables

succulents were added to the table scape

the horse stables towards the carriage houses rear is a splendid location for the bar or cocktail tables. i love the old wood and hardware on the stable doors! the light that shines through the windows in the stable is magical

we wanted to share what's new in the shop for spring with you all!

for starters these lil' piggies are sooo sweet!

this little piggy went to the flower market...

these 2 little piggies are looking for a home...

and this chubby pig is... napping :o)

we LOVE our pigs! as you know we've had so many different piggies

in the shop, these little number's are new this spring only at les fleurs

a new favorite!!!
these glass cylinders with frosted glass inserts are soo pretty along a
mantle or down a table with candle. they have a really pretty glow

french spritzers are perfect for a little light mist for your indoor plants from the shop!

our new chalkboard wooden baskets are so sweet!
3 sides are a reclaimed wood with 2 side handles, the front is a chalk board

our chubby little pig has found a home amongst the african violets in the wheel barrow

look what's poppin' up in our plants! lichen and bark mushrooms!! these adorable picks are available in different sizes and styles... so cute!!

this is a fun (un-floral related) journal entry...

what is the meaning of sunday fun-day?

so i looked it up on urban dictionary and all the definitions refer to end of the week early drunk-ness, i always just thought it was a fun day that happened to be on a... sunday? well our version of sunday fun-day was the beach in february with our adorable puppy, luka!

(he's not really a puppy, he's a full grown dog.

it's just that to me, he'll always be a puppy)

ryan (my amazing husband & occasional les fleurs employee) took luka and i to
north hampton, nh and rye beach today to walk along the
beach and climb amongst the rocks.

it's silly to think that it was enjoyable to be at the beach in february in new england. a crazy winter we've had this season. i guess mother nature is giving us a break after last years. we did have to bundle up to walk along today but the temperature was great!

when were not splashing around the in the water (as we would be crazy to do so in february) there is more time to notice the little beauties at the beach

the colors in this shell are so pretty...
the shell was perfectly still a pair, both sides were attached

even dried beach grasses and weeds are so beautiful during these baron months

the lichen on the rocks all along rye's coast are an amazing sea foam green color
i love working with organic and natural color palettes

our puppy luka seems to enjoy walking along the large rocks at the wall than the beach most times

i love the light in this picture, all these photo's i took with instagrams,
if you have an iphone, you MUST get this app
(i think you can get instagrams on other smart phones,
but were iphone users so i only know about that)

ohh i could just squeeze that little puppy he's so cute!!! he's a little detective and likes to investigate everything. here he is checking out the foot prints left by the sea gulls

the beach was filled with other people like us today, enjoying the unseasonable warmth. dogs playing catch, little ones with their parents collecting rocks, even a few surfers. this picture looks as tho no one else was there. truly beautiful

as we continued north along the coast we stopped again past jenness beach in rye to climb the rocks and a few more photo's of the stunning coast line

we loved the colors in the rock and needed a few photo's of that too

i climbed to the top to look down along the stunning water

there's no trip to the beach without beach pizza! even in february. extra cheese, cristie's pizza in hampton! our favorite!! it's a must-have when your up at the beach, open year round, cash only.

tupper manor is such a beautiful venue and each couple brings their own personality to the space. i have to admit however... i do think this june 12th wedding was one of my most favorite! below leah haydock shot some stunning photo's of the balloon's in the conservatory. the groupings of champagne, yellow and toffee colored balloon's were added to the 3-tier silver dessert stand centerpiece's

following the ceremony for cocktail hour the couple had many yummy treat's including a lemonade bar

a day at the farmer's market... in maine!

our favorite mainer... my beloved cousin heather (fabulous studio florist... anyone in maine needs a florist, let me know!) took me to my first farmer's market!!

it was a rainy saturday morning, we drove down a long country road with fields on either side when we pulled up to this lovely market, very sweet indeed!

the sheep were all out in the pasture eating breakfast... and so were we

(best ever spinach and feta croissant! homemade!!)

this was my first experience with brussel sprouts ever!!
i've eaten them, never seen them like this tho!!

french beans... who knew there were french beans?
we love all things french at les fleurs

the colors were soo rich and abundant

i so loved that all the vendors displayed their goodies on burlap covered tables!!

salad turnips...
i'd like a basket full of these just for the dining room table please

our market findings! heather made the yummiest side dish with the veggies

nestled in our tokens is some kale, which i had for the first time!

my cousin's introduced me to kale chips, click the link below for some kale chip recipes

these plants were almost 5' high! soo pretty

i am looking forward to my next trip to the farmer's market, in the spring & summer months the market sell fresh flowers from their garden's

the color's and organic nature to all the market treats were so inspiring... can't wait to design from my new found inspirations

and astilbe make up the stunning bridal party bouquets

babies breath with fern were delicate adornments on each pew

brett's boutonniere... bunny tail fern, scabiosa and mint

wreaths for either side of the church doors

burlap runners, white cotton finished with white hemstitch napkins (a personal fav!)

the tuscan pottery was perfect for the centerpieces for this backyard wedding!

determining if your wedding day is going to be on the ocean or in a boston hotel will make a BIG difference on all the decision to come

2. confirm vendors

if your venue requires and outside catering company, start making appointments to see the recommended caterer's on the list, book vendors like photographer's, baker, a band or d.j. first... as they may have limited availability
